This is a fun hands-on, project based activity! The prince from Snow White wants to build Snow White and the Seven Drawfs a new neighborhood. Each student will create their own neighborhood while incorporating comparing numbers, place value, standard, word, and expanded form of numbers, and even and odd numbers. This is a great "real world" application for students to show what they know. I have included a check-list to be used to grade student projects. There is also a carousel activity to practice standard, word, and expanded form. In addition, there is a writing connection at the end where students will write to the prince explaining their neighborhood! My students LOVED this project!
I have also included a differentiated project. If your students already understand place value to 1000 then they can make their neighborhood using numbers to 10,000!
