This product contains one category game and eight black and white worksheet pages.
To prepare and play the snowball fight game:
Print pages 3 through 13. Print 4-5 copies of page 14 – more or less depending on the length of the activity. Laminate all pages and cut apart cards. Separate into category versus “splat” cards. Select a category card. Using a Styrofoam ball, a white ball of yarn, or a bean bag, have a snowball category fight! In other words, throw (pass) the ball/yarn/bean bag around the circle, naming items that belong to the provided category. If a student cannot name an item that belongs to the given category, that student has been “hit” by a snowball and receives a “splat” card. The person who has the LEAST amount of “splat” cards at the end of the game is the winner!
To prepare and use the worksheet pages:
Print pages 15 through 22. Students color or dot the two snowballs that belong to the same category and state the category that they belong to. Students can also name an additional item that belongs to the category.
