This set of snowball / winter themed centers, games and printables is designed to help students master counting and number identification. It is appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, homeschool, and special education instruction. The games and centers are designed for hands-on, concrete learning. Students can learn while having fun!


This product includes an interactive play-dough center or game and a center called "Counting Snowballs!". Students use manipulatives or playdough while exploring numbers and one-to-one correspondence.

Interactive Play Dough Mats
Students will draw cards with numerals, ten frames, or addition sentences. Students will create play dough snowballs on their mat to represent the numeral, numbers on the ten frame or addition sentence. Students will complete an extension worksheet after using this center.
Extension worksheets include: counting snowballs and writing the numeral, drawing the correct number of snowballs when give a number, drawing the correct number of snowballs when given a ten frame, write the numeral after solving the addition sentence.

Counting Snowballs!
To identify numerals and add the correct number of snowball manipulatives (pg. 42-43). Complete extension activities in representing a number of objects with a written numeral, use one-to-one correspondence to count out a specific number of objects and draw a pictorial representation of those objects, and trace and write numerals 1-10.

NEW! Ten Frame Play Dough Mats
There are differentiated ten frame mats that students can use with play dough, manipulatives, or dry erase markers. There are mats with numerals 0-10 and blank ten frames. There are also mats with numerals and a ten frame template with circles.

Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
