Snowflake narrative writing with figurative language is such a fun way to bring winter into your English Language Arts classroom! This activity has a lot of options to make it work for you and your students!
Students can create a paper snowflake from plain paper in your classroom to kick off this activity!
After they have made their “snowflake” they will glue this to their figurative language brainstorming page. This is available in color and black and white. Help students write appropriate similes, personification, hyperboles, and alliteration.
The activity could stop there, OR you can let students move on to the narrative writing! Students can plan and write a narrative to go along with their “snowflake”. You can print these pages (color or black and white front/back). There is also a rubric to help in grading these narratives!
This resource includes:
-Figurative language planning page (color AND black/white)
-Narrative prewriting page
-Narrative writing pages (color AND black/white)
