Snowflakes Flipper Book

If you can’t beat the cold weather in January, then just join it! And if you don’t live in a snowy place this Snowflake Little Flipper is even more perfect for you! Create a seven-page mini booklet with your students. This flipper book is about Snowflakes!

This is a fabulous way to introduce or reinforce your student’s knowledge of a science topic. This Little Flipper is also perfect for a follow-up after a STEM Challenge! (My Winter Series is amazing and fun!)

When students have completed the writing and illustrating, the flippers are easy to cut out and staple together. The templates in this product make one mini flipper book. The books are 8 x 5 inches in size when completed. They will fit in a composition notebook.

Included are simple teacher directions, 2 choices of covers in color and 2 in black/white, the 7 page flipper book, an extra page if students need more space, and a poster set! The poster set includes Blizzards, Fun Facts, and Shapes. Also included are vocabulary strips to display as you work. Sample answers are also in the resource.

These little flippers would be perfect for introducing the winter season, independent center work, early finishers, substitute days, or as homework tasks.

Students will:

• Research and write about the meaning of the word snowflake.
• Research and write about how snowflakes are made.
• Research and describe why snowflakes are different (or can be the same if they choose to support that statement.)
• Complete a drawing of a snowflake.
• Sketch different shapes that form the beginning of a snowflake.
• Match vocabulary words to meanings.
• Research and write a factual paragraph about a topic of their choice.
