A bioglyph is a picture consisting of symbols to show someone’s life. Bio means life and glyph means symbol. Your class will enjoy creating and sharing these snowman bioglyphs.
After completing the bioglyphs, have fun using the key to learn about each other. This activity is great for teaching map reading skills. I have used a similar activity for parent night. I post the bioglyphs along with a key. Parents enjoy figuring out which one belongs to their child.
A simpler snowman and a page with many blanks to complete will give your students the opportunity to create even more interesting bioglyphs to share. Students could just draw their own snowman and decorate it according to the key they or their classmates create.Students complete the snowman to tell information about themselves and their likes and dislikes.
The completed Bioglyphs could be displayed on a winter bulletin board.
