The Snowman Glyph and Writing Project is a great winter activity for following directions, analyzing data, and writing. Students will love comparing each other's snowmen to determine the owner.
The glyphs should be displayed on a bulletin board and used as a guide/prompt for writing a descriptive sentence, paragraph or for how-to writing (see the last two pages for coordinating stationary). The hat, arms, buttons, and mouth can be drawn or painted onto the snowman, or drawn, cut out, and glued with construction paper. Provide the directions orally and visually with the whole class while they draw and color their snowmen.
