Description

You are purchasing a sentence writing activity for Kindergarten - 2nd grade with adorable snowman selfies! Students read the words and sequence them to create a sentence that makes sense (adding punctuation and capitalization). This pack can be used for a small group, whole group mini-lesson, or during Centers. I created it because I needed a fun and engaging way to practice sentence writing with my students.

My goal was to create a resource that could be prepped once and used for several years. Plus, you can customize it to the needs of your students and grade level!

What’s Included?

Four sentences with word cards for students to manipulate. Also included is:

  • Sentence recording sheet to match the pictures on the word cards
  • Blackline masters to save on ink and money (print on colored paper or cardstock for more durability)
  • Additional recording sheet for students to create their own snowman sentences to match each selfie picture

★ If the sentences are too long for younger grades (K-1), you can remove the adjectives to make shorter sentences.

  • Instead of "The plump snowman rolled down the giant hill," the sentence could say "The snowman rolled down the hill," for example.

★ Print the words cards, laminate, cut apart and put each sentence into little baggies

★ Print and copy the sentence recording sheet and you're all set!
