I assigned one of my class bulletin boards to a group of students. They call themselves the Bulletin Buddies. Each month, they get together and decide on a new theme for their board. The Bulletin Buddies wanted to do a snowman-themed bulletin board about books, so I came up with this snowman template. I asked students to choose a favorite story and write something that they thought would convince a friend to read the story. I gave students the choice to illustrate a part of the story that they liked or recreate the cover. Students decorated their snowman and pasted it on colored construction paper. They had a lot of fun with it.
This template could be used for a variety of subjects and topics. I was thinking it would be a great way to write and illustrate a math problem as well.
