PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

What a fun way to relate the real world to math! This activity helps students see how important snowmelt can be to areas that do not get a lot of rain. The students will discover how many gallons of water are created from 1 inch of snow and create a table, graph, and linear function. They will then use that information to answer specific questions. To begin this activity, I looked on Youtube for a news snippet of how lack of snow affects the drought in Yosemite and shared that with my students. We then talked about the news clip and then worked on the activity.
