Students are asked to run a construction company, they will have to build snowmen and choose their own accessories adding up the totals. However, they will have to logically think about the cost of their snowman to the total amount of money they have. They are not allowed to go over $30.00 or a total of 60 pounds. This is a great activity when paired with "Snowmen At Night," or could be used all winter long!
Each accessory is labeled with a weight in ounces and a price.. They will have to add up the ounces and convert to overall pounds, as well as calculate the price of their snowman.
Students will have to choose between many accessories but here is the example for the carrot.
Small Carrot: Costs $0.15 and weighs 4 oz.
Medium Carrot: Costs $0.20 and weighs 5 oz
Large Carrot: Costs $.25 and weighs 6 oz
