The winter holidays are a fun time of year, so why not create some classroom cheer by sharing these original holiday songs (about snowmen and Santa) written to the tune of classical nursery rhymes? Here are some fun ways to use these songs:
o Whole Group: Teach these songs to the entire class.
o Small Groups: Create a class “jigsaw”. Give each group a song to learn and teach to the rest of the class.
o Holiday Rock: Invite individuals or small groups to “rock out” by sharing their interpretation of the song with the class. (Think: “School of Rock”.)
o Drama Time: Have students or small groups dramatize the songs.
o Challenge: After students learn these songs, they can write their own holiday songs by revising the lyrics.
No matter how you choose to use these songs, just have a wonderful time!
For your convenience, all songs are separated on individual pages as well as compiled on a single page.
