So You Want To Be In Radio? - A Disc Jockey Teaches Us How

In this episode we interview a real life radio DJ (disc jockey) to learn how radio works, from the creation of programming to the broadcasting of a signal. DJ Zouain is the campus coordinator for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Orlando and Tampa, FL. He and Producer Tyler take the time to teach the kids and even let them produce their own show!

Use a tape recorder, voice recorder, computer, phone or other recording devoice and make your own family radio episode on any topic that interests you! After you make your show, answer the questions below.

+Teachers/parents ask kiddos:
1. If you had your own radio show and could talk about anything, what topic would you choose?
2. What is one interest or passion of yours that you could teach me about?

+Kiddos ask teachers/parents:
1. Have you ever been on the radio?
2. How old were you when you knew you wanted to do your current job? What inspired you?
