Soccer Speech & Language Packet

First, is a game to target articulation of /s/. Each card set has target words in the initial, medial, and final positions and a stimulus picture for each word. Each student will pick a card, correctly say the word aloud or use it in a sentence. If the student produces his/her word correctly, they may place their card in the correct goal (labeled initial, medial, and final). The student with the most cards wins.

136 total S CARDS:
64 S Initial words
-32 one syllable word cards
-24 two syllable word cards
-8 three syllable word cards

40 S Medial words
-24 two syllable word cards
-16 three syllable word cards

32 S Final words
-16 one syllable word cards
-16 two syllable word cards
*I have also included blank soccer balls to create your own target words.
* 3 soccer goals labeled initial, medial and final

In game two, students focus on Word Associations - 48 cards to target associations, similarities, and/or differences and 6 special cards (54 cards in all). Make two stacks, word cards with a ball and have a pile of cards with a soccer net. The student will identify similarities and/or differences of the objects named from the cards. If they are able to complete the task, they keep the card. But if they draw a penalty shot, the student must place all cards back. The student with the most cards wins.

Game three focuses on categories. Use the soccer game board while targeting categories. Cards include:
-12 identifying categories of the three items listed on the card
-12 cards for naming 3 items in a category

Game four, follow directions
one-step and two-step directions.
Use the open ended soccer game board. If the student correctly follows the directions on the card, he/she is able to move along on the game board. If the student does not follow the directions, he/she will not be able to move.
*Visuals for students have been provided. One step direction has one soccer ball and two step directions have two soccer balls.
-24 one step directions (Example "Tell me your favorite color.")
-16 two step directions (Example "Touch your nose, then count to ten).

The above activities can also be adapted for grammar and vocabulary!
