Are you out of ideas for social groups? Or just need a go to that is NO PREP? Students have a blast with these mini role plays, plus they're able to increase their awareness of conversation skills at the same time!
This resource contains 50 conversation scripts for students to role play with a partner or a group. After reading through the script (2 scripts per page), students can identify if there was a problem with the conversation (a handful do not have a problem), and if so, what the problem was.
The following problems are addressed:
♦ Conversational Turn Taking
♦ Topics of Conversation
♦ Starting/Ending Conversations
♦ Reading Social Cues/Considering the Feelings of Others
After identifying a problem in the conversation, students can discuss how to make the conversation better and then re-create the conversation using what was discussed.
Additionally, this resource can be used to:
♦ Make inferences and predictions about what's happening in the conversations and why
♦ Identify the feelings of the people in the conversations
♦ Demonstrate appropriate non-verbal communication, such as tone of voice and body language
There is also a visual provided (see images) to help get students thinking about what might be some problems in the conversations.
This resource is fun for social groups! There is NO PREP needed and can be used by printing the scripts (no color ink) or presenting them on an iPad, computer, or teletherapy platform.
