Learning to ask and answer questions are common goals for children in social communication groups. Most children with social communication delays have difficulty with asking and answering questions with peers. Social Butterflies Club® Qs are question activities that make asking and answering questions more interactive for children. I like to laminate the pictures and attach the questions to the back.I sometimes will add Velcro® to one side and use a pointer hand with Velcro® to have the children pick a question. I also hide them around the room and play Q hunt or simply place them on the floor and have each friend pick one up.
Cut these Qs out and attach to the back of the snowflakes. You can also create your own in the blank boxes. Laminate the snowflakes. Have each child pick a snowflake and answer the question or ask a friend the question.
These can also be used in individual speech-language therapy sessions. There are theme-based simple and complex wh- questions in this activity.
