What educators are saying

The students had a blast creating these. It also helped make this very hard time of mask wearing more fun. Thank you.
Great art project to start the year! I've used this twice now and I'm hoping I won't have to use it next year - no offence! :-)

Description

Are you concerned about trying to build relationships with your students behind a mask? Or maybe, you just need a safe activity to do on the first day of school! Here, you will find a “craft-tivity” that will help you and your students get to know one another, even with a mask on!

Included in this activity is a basic person outline and masks with lines for writing clues. Your students will be asked to draw a self-portrait, write 3 clues about themselves on their paper mask, and cut out the mask to put over their faces. Student directions with pictures are also included to assist you and your students!

When your students are done, you can read the clues aloud and have the rest of the class guess to see who is behind the mask!

After completing this activity, you will have a great decoration for Open House and a wonderful keepsake for parents!

And if you are looking for more activities for the first week of school, check out the Primary Social Distancing - Social Story or the Intermediate Social Distancing - Social Story!
