Through my research into Social Emotional Learning and the benefits of supporting student needs I created a day plan that is considerate of young learners needs. This day plan can be changed but I have explained why I have made each choice during the day and where I drew from research. It can easily be modified to include subject areas by day instead of project time. I am using a cross-curricular teaching model next year that incorporates projects as opposed to themes. The projects will be tailored to student, curiosity, needs and curriculum requirements. This plan is for ONE DAY so it can be modified into a well rounded five day schedule for students in grades prekindergarten to grade one.
