Lesson 1-What Does Perseverance Mean?
After watching a quick video, your class will discuss perseverance and what it means. You'll create an anchor chart together about what perseverance means to your students and then they will take some time to draw and write about it.
Lesson 2-What Does Perseverance Look and Sound Like?
After reviewing perseverance from last week, your class will work together to sort scenarios that DO look/sound like perseverance and that DON'T. Your class will discuss what it means to give up, and what it means to keep going even when things are frustrating or seem impossible. Then students will draw and write about their own example.
Lesson 3-What Does "Yet" Mean?
Your class will watch a short video and then discuss the power of saying "yet." So many things in their lives seem impossible, but we teach them to say "I just can't do it YET." For example, instead of saying "I can't read chapter books" we'll discuss saying "I can't read chapter books YET but I'm working hard to get there!" Your class will create an anchor chart of things they are working on and then make a flip-book.
Lesson 4-What Does It Mean to Have a Growth Mindset?
After reviewing everything you've learned over the past few weeks, your class will watch their final short video over Growth Mindset. You'll use a real life example to model a fixed and a growth mindset and talk about how our brains can stretch and grow when things are challenging. Then students will create an adorable brain craft to attach to a writing page.
