On the following pages you will find 64 social emotional learning (SEL) situation cards. These cards present circumstances written in the first person that might occur with your students. Below are some suggestions on how to use the cards.
Pose one question to your class each week and allow five minutes for sharing each day.
Give students a card and have them write or share their answer.
Pair students together who don’t get along or aren’t particularly friendly. Have them share the answer to one question.
Play scoot: place one card on each desk and have students scoot around the room to answer them. There is an answer sheet on page 19 for this activity.
Give students the full or partial list and ask them to check if the situation has ever happened to them.
