Students are asked to view a piece of art (photograph, painting, drawing) and respond to it by creating their own work of art.
I have included three pieces for students to respond to. Each piece discovers a new social issue.
I have included a rubric and an introductory, explanation page; as well, it is a smart notebook that it 100% editable.
Usually, I demand that my students think deeply about their responses. I do not allow words, or quotes.
As an example, one of the images is of a child soldier. One of my students drew a detailed machine gun with crayons as bullets.
