This project asks students to violate a social norm publicly and reflect on their experience via completion of a worksheet. Questions include general requests about the norm being violated, the feelings it aroused in the student, etc., but it also asks student to determine whether they normally follow the norm due to normative or informational social influence. Students are also required to attach some sort of proof (such as a video recording or a signed statement) verifying they actually violated the norm. This project could be used in a Sociology, Psychology, or AP Psychology class effectively.
