This is a set of 17 role play cards to help children problem solve when they have arguments with friends or siblings.
These scenarios are geared toward the typical (and usually trivial!) arguments children find themselves having with peers or siblings. (See the preview for examples.) Encourage children to calm down and use the problem solving strategies you have taught them.
Use these role plays to help children with:
-not getting their way
-letting others choose
-letting others go first
I prefer to use the Second Step curriculum’s STEP method of problem solving:
Say the problem
Think of solutions
Explore your ideas
Pick the best one
These role play cards would match well with the Problem Solving and Fair Ways to Play lessons of Second Step, particularly in grades K, 1, 2, 3.
