Many children work fabulously with a structured routine. Why not implement this at night or to calm down?
The first two slides are for nighttime, where the parent can pick and choose from a variety of activities typically
seen as calming for nighttime. Laminate the slides. Cut out the activities and use Velcro to adhere them, making the
choices changeable as the parent sees fit (or child). I have given this to parents I have worked with in the school
who have trouble getting their child to bed. The second routine is used in the classroom for students who lack
the ability to emotionally regulate themselves, need prompts, yet also can be somewhat independent (or working
in that direction).
