This fun activity focuses on using expected and unexpected behaviors when someone is bothering or "bugging" you, using play-doh mats as a reinforcer. Expected/Unexpected are terms from Think Social (R) materials by Michelle Garcia Winner. More information can be found on her website: www.socialthinking.com
When the students identify (or you "catch" them) using expected behaviors in social scenarios when someone is bugging another person, they get a small ball of play-doh (any color) to squish on one of the bug bubbles on the mat. The goal is to get all 8 buggy bubbles squished!
My product includes:
4 colorful bug themed play-doh mats
1 information page to talk about the expected and unexpected ways to respond when someone is bugging us
12 social scenario cards to practice the skill
Directions for the activity and extension ideas are also included
This is perfect for preK-elementary students working on social skills in speech, counseling or with whole class instruction!
I also have a money saving bundle of 7 social skills squish packets here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Social-Skills-Squish-Bundle-1927594
