Have fun practicing the social skill of responding, "Thank you!" with a gift theme at varied levels for differentiated instruction in this symbol supported activity set. Start with saying ‘thank you’ in an adapted book and build skills: thanking peers, stating opinions about toys politely, determining if statements are polite or rude and how they make others feel, and paying attention to peers' perspectives on toys and activities.

The gift papers are generic and no specific holidays are mentioned, so this is great for birthdays and gift giving at any time of year!

Activities include:
1. An adapted, symbol supported, interactive book with photos : label toys, their functions and respond ‘thank you.’
2. Interactive gifts activity at three levels:
+ label toys and give a personal opinion
+ take peer’s perspectives by stating who in the group likes that toy and asking a question to confirm
+ interacting with peers to find out if they would join an activity and responding politely with ‘Yes, thanks!’ or ‘No, thank you.”
3. Social rules stories at 2 levels to understand why saying ‘thank you’ is important
4. Creating a gift wish list- great for bulletin boards
5. 2 foldable book activities for students to make- gifts they like/dislike
6. Worksheets at varied levels described below
