Social Skills Deck – with color AND black and white options!
This card deck includes 46 flashcards targeting the following social skills:
Acceptable vs. Unacceptable Social Behaviors (20 cards)
Feelings and Perspective Taking (15 cards)
Social Problem Solving: What Should You Do? (11 cards)
I put all of the cards on a binder ring and store on a hook in my classroom!
Acceptable vs. Unacceptable Social Behaviors: These cards present the student with a short scenario and the student must decide if the actions described are kind, safe, and respectful (acceptable) or rude, unsafe, or unpredictable (unacceptable).
Feelings and Perspective Taking: These cards present the student with a paragraph involving an interaction between two characters. The student has to either identify the emotions the characters may be experiencing or state the two different perspectives the characters have about the situation.
Social Problem Solving: These cards contain difficult social situations and the student must share what they would do in that situation. For example, what should you do if another student asks you to cheat? What should you do if you witness someone getting bullied?
Note: These cards can be used year round, but many of the scenarios are spring related and the colors are bring and cheery – perfect for springtime! I love using these cards with my pragmatic language groups in speech therapy!
