    This zipped folder contains a variety of materials that can be used to teach students to identify feelings and social skills for students in grades 2-3, including a social skills interactive journal with weekly themes and lesson plans for the duration of the school year, and a set of 8 fluency passages that identify different emotions and how to manage them.

    Social Skills Posters with Visuals (16) and Cloze Activity

    This file contains social skills posters I created to help students learn the 16 essential social skills. I wanted to use visuals to help students learn the steps and give them a cloze activity to enhance their comprehension. Some students are more reluctant to do the cloze activities but it works for some! :) These 16 social skills are the same that the PH program at my school uses for teaching social skills and replacement behaviors. They are a nice reference for role playing activities or for a resource room bulletin board!

    Who Cares? Poetry for Teaching Social Skills and Replacement Behaviors

    This file contains poems I wrote to use when helping students with social skills. I wanted to try something different and I really like poetry. This pack includes 14 poems (all different types) that are based on the 16 essential social skills. I am going to have my students use these poems in addition to the Social Skills Posters with Visuals and Cloze Activity (which is available in my store) to create "Interactive Social Skills Journals." I am going to have students glue the poems and posters with visuals in their journals and then respond to them using pictures, their own poetry or a written response.

    My Book of Feelings: A Social Skills Freebie!

    This is a little activity/book I made for students working identifying their feelings and appropriate responses. There are pages with pictures and pages without if you'd like students to draw pictures of themselves feeling those emotions. There are 8 pages for 8 different feelings/emotions and a cover page for each set. You could have students make a book, or just use the individual pages for separate activities based on the student's needs. I used this to help students identify replacement behaviors.

    Emotion Meters {Social Skills Freebie}

    This file contains 4 different versions of Emotion Meters that students can use to help them identify and/or verbalize their emotional state. There is a boy version with 3 levels, a boy version with 4 levels, a girl version with 3 levels and a girl version with 4 levels. You can use these in various ways based on your student. I suggest printing them in color using the version most appropriate for your student's needs, laminate it, superglue it to a large popsicle stick and add a small clothespin to the side for students to use as a gage.

    I hope this helps you with students who need social skills support and help identifying their feelings and emotions. And I hope you have a GREAT school year!

    Interactive Social Skills Notebook

    This file contains 32 weeks of lessons and activities to use toward an Interactive Social Skills Notebook or Journal. For each of the 32 topics, there are 3 days of lesson plans, a piece of text of various types (including poetry, step by step instructions, etc.), foldable and other interactive activities to use in students’ interactive journals.

    The 32 weekly themes for weekly lesson plans and corresponding activities include:

    ***This product includes some altered materials from my other social skills items including Social Skills Posters & Cloze Activities and Who Cares? Poetry for Teaching Social Skills.***

    To meet your students’ needs, you can go in any order with the weekly themes. You may need to tweak some of the activities depending on the grade level you are working with, as I designed this item to be used for students of multiple grade levels. I have never been a huge fan of teaching social skills but I believe it’s because I’ve never had any curriculum or activities that I really loved teaching. I hope you and your students will find this to be an engaging way to do your social skills instruction and that your students will make great progress!

    Because I understand how difficult behavior intervention can be, I tried to make this an AWESOME value for you. I hope you love this folder and that you can use it to really help both you and your students! If so, I’d really appreciate your feedback and follows.

    Thank you so much and God bless you for all that you do for your students!
