Social Skills Loops are the cure for the common card game! Perfect for the traveling SLP, push-in services, and having lots of fun without a mess! I put for a grade range of 3-6 for this activity to make sure the situations are applicable. The format is elementary and middle school friendly, so older students will not feel that they are using an elementary material.
There are 40 situations in each set. That is a total of 80 situations and scenarios for you to discuss and work through with your students! You can pick and choose which strips you want to include for certain groups and which to take out. CUSTOMIZE IT!
How to Play:
- Punch a hole on the left side of each strip and put them on a ring or clip to keep strips together. You can mix up the strips so point values ( tallies ) are scattered.
- Before you start, determine the number of points ( tallies ) the winner must reach. Have each student read the question. If they determine what the problem is and what the best, most expected way to solve it would be or if they can respond with how other people would view their behavior ( depending on which game you are playing ) they earn the number of points ( tallies ) shown on the strip. The first one to the set amount of points ( tallies ) wins!
-Students can keep track of points on a whiteboard, separate sheet of paper, or on their desk/table with a dry erase marker.
* Feel free to off BONUS POINTS for answering question a student couldn't, giving an additional information, etc.
