I like to begin discussing a social skill that is a general trend in the classroom.
Have students help you brainstorm the responses to the end of the sentence e.g.
Raise your hand to ....
Raise your hand when ....
Raise your hand because ..
The brainstorm/anchor chart can be completed using large paper, cardboard or butcher's paper.
Students then work on their individual flippy book either by them self or in a small guided group (depending on grade level).
