This social language companion packet (book not included) will take your students through the CSI (crime scene investigation) in order to:
Make inferences (a good guess) based on what you know and see
Guess what the characters in the story might be thinking
Guess what the characters in the story might be feeling
Determine if the behaviors of the characters were predictable (green)
or unpredictable (red)
Guess the point of view: Listen to the statements and match them to the character who you think is speaking.
Use the pictures to talk about the “suspects” (characters), scene of the crime (setting), and clues to what might have happened in the story.
This packet is appropriate for your elementary aged students, or students with mild cognitive or social language impairments functioning at the same level
