This product was designed for students who struggle with social communication skills. This reflection journal packet prompts students to think back on real life social situations and answer questions requiring them to "think about their thinking", strengthening metacognitive skills. This journal also explicitly instructs students to pay attention to and discuss the non-verbal language of others (tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language) and provides an opportunity to discuss the impact non-verbal language in situations impacts meaning. This social skills reflection journal provides an easy way for students to document incidences that happen for easy recall and discussion later with a teacher or educator who's trained to provide support to help them learn how to better deal with social situations. Often, students who struggle with social skills often have difficulty recalling details of events that happen when discussing social skills in school or during therapy sessions. This journal will aid in the recall so that educators may better help students become more effective social communicators. The journal provides an introduction with support for the educator providing social skills support.
