This social skills reflection journal resource allows students to monitor their own social interactions on a daily basis. First, students choose a cover for their journal from a choice of 6 covers. The first page in their journal is a reference to different emotions they may experience during the week. There are three different pages for each day of the week. The first page asks the student to identify how they are feeling and to describe both positive and negative social interactions that they experienced on that particular day. The second page asks the student to list the different people they interacted with today, which people they hope to interact with tomorrow, and to detail the social interaction they are most proud of from the day. The third page is a social interaction/etiquette checklist so students can self-evaluate. These three pages are duplicated for the 7 days of the week. At the end of the week there are two additional pages for students to create two social interaction goals for themselves and to reflect on the interaction they are most proud of in the last 7 days.
Students can either print and attach pages for one week at a time or one month at a time. Alternatively, students can put together their journal using a binder. The cover page can be slipped in the front of the binder and a three hole puncher can be used to continuously add their weekly reflections in. This is a great way for students to be organized in reflecting on their social interactions and see their progress over the course of a whole year!
