Courage and Peer Pressure
‘Peer pressure is the influence a peer group has on its members to fit into a particular way of thinking and behaving. This influence increases as children and young people grow older and reach adolescence.’ Kids Helpline Site Aus.
Peer pressure is a lifelong issue for many people. Introducing the topic early to young children, before they approach adolescence, better prepares them to understand the manipulative pressure that may be used to try and influence their behaviour. This helps them develop opinions and a mind of their own.
