The purpose of this unit is to increase student awareness of the feelings of others using original short stories and higher order questioning from Bloom’s. These activities would be great for back to school or to help with classroom behaviors. This unit was written to help my students that have problems understanding, answering questions, creating complete sentences and even using empathy.
Included are 23 useable pages consisting of:
Printables designed for two different ways to use to increase social skills. Many different elementary school levels can be addressed by this activity.

"I use this in a social play group that I plan for kids diagnosed with autism. It is a helpful tool for generalizing skills into everyday life situations."
For younger students, there are full color cards that can be cut into two cards with the corresponding stories (they are numbered) to be glued on the back so that the students can look at the picture as you read the story to them and then ask the questions. I would print on card stock and laminate these cards when they are glued for extra durability.
Older students can read the worksheet stories to themselves and answer the questions. I did not number the story/question pages because you may want to use them in a different sequence. I used stories that are real life for them, for example, a kid who sits at the top of the slide and won’t move or someone who doesn’t share. There are follow-up activities to use as well. These activities would be very useful for students with autism as well who need to work on social skills.
