This PowerPoint activity is designed to work on the Social Thinking skill of understanding a message through tone of voice and body language. Students often miss the hidden meaning of a message by missing the tone of voice that is being used.
Students will watch video clips of the same phrase being said in 2-3 different ways. The students then need to decide what the correct “thought bubble” message would be based on tone of voice and facial expression.
Picture Visual to represent the parts of communicating
14 video clips showing facial expression and tone of voice
7 pages of worksheets to determining the meaning of the message
Videos to be used for student use only please! Some buyers have reported that video clips are rotated when they download file. I have checked this and video orientations are correct. If this happens you will have to rotate and save on your computer.
