Social Stories are a great teaching tool not only for students with special needs, but also for any child that needs a little help internalizing the many behavioral expectations that we throw their way in school.
The value of a social story is in the simplicity of the language and the corresponding visuals. You will notice that all of my social stories have blank boxes above the words. In these boxes either insert or affix a picture of the student modeling the behavior described in the words, or have them draw a picture to accompany the words. Both approaches will foster a sense of ownership and pride and will result in more time spent reading it.
Social Stories Pack 1 includes 11 social stories. Topics include: Assemblies, Carpet Time, Going on a Field Trip, Guest Teachers, Helpful Hands, Keeping Hands to Self, Making Friends at School, My Way; Dealing with Frustration, Recess, Shoutie Outies, and Standing in Line.
All titles listed above can be purchased individually. For more details about each title, please see the individual story in my store.
