This engaging, rhyming social story written to discourage pinching behaviors. It teaches a list of appropriate actions you can do with your fingers. It follows up that list by saying pinching is something fingers should never do because it hurts our friends and makes them sad, Finally, this story teaches two alternate strategies for dealing with anger or frustration- using your words to communicate how you feel and using your fingers to count to 10 to calm down. It concludes by reminding students to
"Save your fingers for doing things that are helpful and good.
You make wise choices when you do what you should."
Color and black and white versions are included. There are also five activity pages to reinforce the concepts in the book. Together these make a complete social skills lesson.
