This Social Story teaches children how to appropriately act when a person accidentally touches them. It offers strategies such as squeezing hands together or giving a high five to someone. This can be used for students who have sensory issues and have difficulty handling any type of touch.
Print out the following sheets and be sure to include the personalized page at the beginning with your student’s picture. Read the story several times a day during random moments for several weeks. It is best when the student reads the story out loud, but it can also be read by a caregiver.
Read daily with your student and then practice the skill in the natural setting when the opportunity arises.
