Product Description
This social story is a great read for students who may need some support and help when they want to - or have to - get a job. It helps students understand the benefits of having a job and what they can expect during the process of trying to find a job.

Many students with autism are visual learners and like to learn through seeing something in action. This book comes complete with matching, simple yet engaging graphics to help describe what is being said on the page.

Comes in col option only - no b/w availability, however you can print in grayscale.

Pages included are;
♦ Buying items like food, drink, toys and clothes cost money.
♦ When I’m old enough, I can get a job to earn some money for myself.
♦ To get a job, I should look for job adverts online, in stores or in newspapers.
♦ I can ask my family or career advisor in school to help me.
♦ When I apply for a job, I have to give them a resume about myself. I can have help to write this.
♦ The company may call me for an interview if they like my cv.
♦ For the interview, I should dress smart and arrive early.
♦ In the interview I will be asked lots of questions, I should answer these as best as I can.
♦ I should smile, be confident, kind and keep good eye contact as well as being polite.
♦ I can role play an interview with my family or friends before so I know what to expect.
♦ When the interview is over, I shall thank them and then leave.
♦ If I get the job, they will phone me and let me know,
♦ If I do not get the job, it is ok, I can apply for another job. They might have had lots of people applying for one job.
♦ If I get the job, I will probably have to wear a uniform like everyone else.
♦ I will make sure I am clean and presentable, brushing my teeth, having a wash and brushing my hair.
♦ I should arrive early for my job each day and work to the best of my ability.
♦ Each month I will get paid from my job, some of my money will go on taxes.
♦ Having a job will mean I can make money to buy items that I want.
♦ It also means that I am growing up and becoming an independent adult!
