I Want It My Way
I like to have things my way. It makes me feel good when things are just the way I like them. I feel uncomfortable and sometimes angry when things don’t go my way. There are going to be many times in school and at home when I can have things my way but there will also be times when I can’t have things my way. When I can’t have things my way I will have to work very hard to control my frustration. I will take a deep breath and keep my voice quiet. It is not polite to yell “I want it my way!” I will tell myself that it is just not possible for all the people in the world (that’s a lot!) to have their way all the time. If I get my way all the time no one else gets a turn to have things their way. All people deserve turns to have things their own way. My teacher will get to have her way often because she is the one that is in charge of the class. When I am an adult and have my own job I will have more chances to get things my way.
