Product Description
Playing A Game is a social skill that does not come easily to some students…especially the younger ones. Teach this skill to reduce conflict, promote friendship, and to create a culture of cooperation in your classroom.

Social stories are an entertaining format that children can relate to. This story states the problem, why it's a problem, and what to do about it.

Print and fold this Little Book as many times as you like (Folding instructions included). Send a copy home so parents can read it with their child and reinforce your efforts in school.

If a copy is damaged, print another. Collect an assortment of these little social story books and allow your students to read the books whenever they like.

You can even LAMINATE the books so they will survive even the most challenging students! (See the FAQ included for hints on how to do this.)

This is an 8 page "Little Book" (3 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches) with color pictures to support the text. This book features a child who gets so involved in playing a game that he doesn't consider his friends. He learns some rules of play and finds that when he kind and thoughtful and waits his turn, friends will enjoy playing with him!

BIGGER BOOK - The story PLAYING A GAME also comes in a bigger version. Print front and back on standard 8x11 paper. Fold in half and you get the book in half-sheet size.

POWER POINT VERSION - If you would like to read the story to the whole class, you might like to use the Power Point version.

Two posters (print on 8 1/2 x 11 paper). These are in color and match the illustrations in the book. Both posters also come in black and white. (These make great coloring sheets.)

These cards are layed out so that they can be printed on cardstock, then folded. They can stand up as a little two sided sign. Place them on your game table to remind students to Take Turns when playing games.
