We teachers often have a student or two who forget to raise their hand and blurt out in class instead. Students usually do this to gain the teacher’s attention however this often causes disruptions in class and irritates other students as well! This Social Story is used to teach students that when they need to speak up in class they must raise their hand. It teaches them that they can still get the teacher’s attention just by raising their hands.
Social Stories are used for teaching kids behavioral expectations. They work great with kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Social Emotional Behavioral Difficulties (SEBD).
