Teachers love summer, but we can't say the same for every one of our students, can we?? Some students need help transitioning from a school routine to changes that occur in the summer. Still others find it more challenging to return to school in the fall after summer break. Using clip art from Melonheadz, Pink Cat and Scrappindoodles, here's a social story for those students of yours who don't want school to end and need some advance warning and preparation for how the summer will be different for them. I've rewritten the story so you can also use it to help students transition back to school in the fall. Supergirl takes you on a journey from school to summer, then summer to school, discussing the changes and showing your students how to go with the flow!! Designed for students from pre-k (of course you will read it to them) to grade 3. It's for those student with autism or any student who has trouble transitioning from school to summer and/or summer to school!
