Positive behavior support in the form of a 10 page social story and visuals! Six desired behaviors are addressed: Asking for a break when angry, waiting for a turn, listening to others, finishing work, following directions, and being flexible. This story supports social thinking skills and the Nurtured Heart Approach (describing the desired behavior and naming positive traits, such as being responsible, dependable, and fair).
The story comes with a tool box and tools with behaviors written on them ("I can" statements). These tools may be cut out/laminated and placed in the tool box throughout the story. Or, you may wish to place these on a bulletin board. Students may also earn tools for their own boxes as they self-assess their own behaviors and/or as you take data on positive behaviors they show in the classroom. There are many ways to use and adapt these simple materials for your students' needs.
