Product Description
Following Directions:
Instructions are everywhere. Our ability to follow directions we hear and read impacts our success in life. Strong willed children with a bent towards always being the leader struggle to follow directions. Kids with a strong imagination and creative thinking also struggle to follow directions without putting their own spin on things. This story attempts to teach these kids the importance of following directions. In the story, Grandma patiently teaches the kids that directions are not meant to be restrictive or controlling, but to keep us calm, safe, and successful.

Recommendations for using this unit:
Teaching versions: Print and put in sleeve protectors. Keep in a 3-ring binder.
Award certificate: use to reward students for achieving their goal.
Coupons: give to all the student’s teachers. When a child gets caught, give them a coupon. Keep and record the coupons on the behavior contract or record the data in a different way to use in the IEP.
Behavior Contract: Record dates, times, locations, and whatever other information you need for your IEP. Talk through this with your students so they know the terms of their rewards and/or consequences.
Classroom wall poster: post somewhere visible to remind your student even when you are not around or print 4/page, laminate, and use as a desk card
