Using REAL LIFE pictures, this social story talks about blowing your nose and hygiene and how it makes peers feel when you don't.
Perfect for students with autism, special needs, or Kindergarten.
"There's a Booger In My Nose!" is a graphically blunt manner in which to show kids the way nose-picking looks to others. Those of us who teach young children have had to explain this at one time or another to our little guys and girls (yes, girls DO pick their noses, too!). The Social Story contains 11 real life photographs of nose-picking, nose-blowing, and that yucky excrement itself (we refer to it as boogers, snot, slime, mucous, or phlegm)! A follow-up File Folder activity is included with 6 different pictures that your student must give a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" photo match. This activity was created specifically for a 6 year old student in my class (just turned 7) and with repetitive review of this activity, the nose-picking has decreased considerably! Be on the look out for nail biting (same child, different lesson) to be added by August 2013!
EASY-TO-ASSEMBLE! Print on white card stock and trim pages. Laminate Social Story pages and use a one-hole punch to make two holes at the top of each page. Attach with two 1" binder rings. Assemble file folder activity using a letter size file folder (color or manila).
