This activity was created for teaching appropriate use of speech-generating devices (SGD) for speech-generating device users. I created these visuals and this social story for students who are using their SGD to make request and comments in the classroom and benefit from visual supports to learn how to care for their SGD and how to appropriate use their device
This packet includes the following:
- “My turn too talk” visual support and “Time to listen” visual support for use on desk or during structured task. You can support student understanding of when it is their turn to talk/listen by flipping the visual support to the side that is appropriate.
- Using my Speech Device at School: A Social Story, a social story for teaching students how to care for their speech generating device at school.
