Social studies fair projects encourage students to think critically about some aspect of our world and society. They must complete research and explore a topic in a scientific way. Furthermore, the project asks students to synthesize, integrate, and apply the skills they have also learned in ELA, math and social studies.
This product is a PowerPoint version of my Social Studies Fair: Step-by-Step product in "handout" version. It provides teachers, students, and parents with a step-by-step guide to complete a social studies fair project. The packet covers the types of projects: problem solving, exposition, and demonstration. It also addressed the six disciplines: sociology, geography, economics, anthropology, political science, and history. Information is provided for how to complete the research report, the abstract, the display, the oral presentation and much more. Also included are a timeline and a judging/scoring form.
The PowerPoint version is best for classroom, whole school, or Parents' Night presentations, while the "handout" version can be copied and distributed. Both have the same content . . . just a little different formatting, etc.
