Are you looking for a fun way to have the students review geography, economics, and government? Here is a fun project that will get your students engaged and thinking about social studies. Students will be asked to use their knowledge of social studies to find a place to survive the zombie apocalypse and rebuild civilization. Included in this download are three versions of this project to address various learners within your classroom. Students who are higher achieving will be given an opportunity to create their own version of how the virus started and how it spread. Based on their decisions they will determine where they will go for shelter and what transpires after that. Students who are on grade level will be given several different situations and different locations to choose from to start their project. For your students who need support a modified version is included, that focuses on one central location within a group setting. Students in this version are given specific roles rather than undertaking a large scale project. Rubrics are included that will also make this project easy to grade. This project is based on 7th grade Social Studies Standards in Georgia and is centered around the Middle East, Africa, and Asia but can easily be adapted to other regions of the world or 6th grade Georgia Social Studies standards.
